Final A1 Presentation Sheet Printed
Test Print of The A1 Sheet
We printed the A1 sheet to get a sense of the space we were working with. It showed that we had quite a bit of white space that was creating large divisions within the structure of the sheet. With the aid of the post-it notes we placed the on the sheet where we knew where the text was going to go. Checking the alignment and measurement of some of the images and diagrams were key in this process so that we knew that everything was scaled properly to a known size.
The evolution of the Design
Throughout the morning we have been reworking the design with several different base layouts saved and more complex layouts. We have also had some extra complications in finding our last section in 1:200 with scaling issues which has halted our design progress. Below shows the evolution of our layout design from clunky simple plans, to the more complex final ideas ready for a practice print and final tweaks.
The A1 Sheet
With the deadline friday looming over us we begin to consider what story we actually want our A1 sheet to convey. Walking around the building is like a journey, a precession that begins with the landscape, driveway and garage and ends at the top of the house, the solarium. This journey that the visitor takes through the house, the flow is an interesting starting point to take to the A1 sheet. As the day goes on this idea and layout will be refined through rough pri[nts and group discussions until a final print can be made in preparation of friday.

The Scanned Drawings
Going into the final week of working on the research and drawings of the Villa Savoye the inked drawings were scanned in and then edited in photoshop. This is the point at which research and drawings begin to come together to create a cohesive overall summary of our understanding of the building and it's spaces. This summary of knowledge will be transferred to the A1 board to be presented.

The Drawing Process Update
The process of drawing was a point of problems, smudging of ink ensued and this became a sticking block in moving the project forward as some drawings needed to be restarted to rectify the mistakes. However the basic outline of the drawings were completed in different ink thicknesses to show the various differences in details in the floor plans.
The next stage will be to scan the rest of the drawings with the aim of completing the rendering in photoshop as with the above elevations. The site plan is also yet to be completed, this will be the main focus for friday as well as the continuous updates to this blog.
